SKILLS TO BE DEVELOPED

Plan, design, manage and use methodologies, technologies and analysis tools and apply them to tourism products, in accordance with the best practices in tourism, normative references and applicable legislation.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Create programs that transmit complementary quality and distractions to the classic tourist services; prepare projects of creation, consolidation and communication of products and tourist destinations; develop operations of management in tourist companies; plan and manage systems of information for the registration and data handling inherent to the tourism activity; collect, analyze and systematize information with a view to document management, as well as promotion and commercialization of tourist products; design and organize approaches and techniques of interaction with the customers, with the aim to maximize the results of the activities, thus creating conditions for a successful customer retention; prepare and implement tourist events, from their conception to their realisation; supervise, coordinate and organize the food and beverage operations in tourist, hotel, and catering companies, guaranteeing the quality of the services; manage and streamline products, spaces and tourist equipment, considering the best practices and the applicable legislation; define marketing plans to promote and sell products and tourist services.

MAIN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Tourism Product Development Technician with skills to: analyze the needs and trends of current and potential tourism demand; apply techniques to analyze the tourist potential of natural and cultural resources; apply techniques to categorize the tourism supply; apply communication techniques to perform tourism information tasks; assess and apply methods and techniques for collecting tourism (general, historical and cultural) information, and identify the motivations and interests of customers, in order to adapt the offer of the entertainment sector; design the menus and collaborate in the preparation of drink lists according to different themes or events; devise the information system that characterizes the tourist system in which it is intend to operate; identify the organization's strategic markets, positioning and marketing strategy; organize, execute and handle tourism marketing programs and actions; plan reservations according to demand flows and marketing channels; elaborate tourism content suitable for different market segments.
